It's a Crapshoot

I didn't write yesterday.  Maybe I was discouraged.  I drove to acting class.  It cost me 16 miles.  I've used transit to go to class before, but it was actually raining here yesterday!  And I needed to bring all kinds of props and I needed to be dressed as a prim and perfect lady... it was just very impractical to take transit.  

I've spent the last 30 minutes on the computer trying to figure out the best way to NOT drive to the Dodger game tonight.  AND I THINK I FOUND IT!  The best way to take transit to the Dodger game is a ONE and a HALF HOUR bus ride!  I live about 10 miles from Dodger stadium.  

Seriously, what the F?  It's like they want me to fail.  I could take my bike there- and mostly it would be quiet streets, but I think biking home at night would be a real bad idea.  And I've had to make several promises to concerned friends and boyfriend that I won't put this challenge ahead of my safety.  

I did learn a lot about the historical lack of transit to and from Dodger Stadium though!  Apparently last year the city council was working on it, but it didn't happen because of budget short-falls and the dodgers didn't want to foot half the bill, even though Frank McCourt loudly backed the plan: 

"I'm thrilled," Dodgers owner Frank McCourt said. "It's mandatory we provide fans with an alternative means of access to Dodger Stadium, particularly when we have such high gas prices."

yeah, Mr McCourt, you're right.  So... I'm waiting...  ummm.... you know what "mandatory" means, right?  Just checking.

Friends, I think I am going to carpool to the game.  It is going to cost me miles.  Miles I can't actually afford at this point, but I'll make it up.
