Car-Free Challenge

Last DAY!

I admit it: I'm glad the challenge is going to be over.  It was a great learning experience, and I didn't have to put gas in my car all month, but I'm ready to drive again.

0 Mile day!

yay! it feels so good to be home at the end of a zero mile day.  and only a week left of the challenge!

the transit wagon

I fell off of it.  I'm sorry!

end of week 2: hanging on by a thread

I haven't added up my miles for week two because I am too afraid.  It has been stressful and disheartening.  I have given up and then started up over and over again.

so happy to be home!

I have some great ideas for LA transit:

1. sell day passes on the bus!

2. run past 8 pm

3. free ice cream for all riders

courtship vs conservation

So, we get 2 free days, right? cause today would definitely be one of mine!  YIKES!  My boyfriend and I got invited to enjoy a free dinner at a new restaurant at a billion-dollar resort!  FREE!

Week One: Crap Week; Week Two:????

Well, last week was a challenge for real.   All told I put 57.75 miles on.  So, I am on track to stay under my limit.  Of course, I didn't go across town at all.

It's a Crapshoot

I didn't write yesterday.  Maybe I was discouraged.  I drove to acting class.  It cost me 16 miles.  I've used transit to go to class before, but it was actually raining here yesterday!

Craptacular: the story of LA transit

Day two was not stellar.  If I write this whole entry without profanity, I don't think that I will capture the real mood I am in about the public transit in Los Angeles.

I started out the day well.  Went to coffee, the library, the grocery store and a friend's house all on my bike.

Happy June 1st! (oh crap oh crap oh crap!)

Alright!  I made it through the first day of the car-free challenge completely car-free!  yay!  I'm strongly considering dropping down my mileage.  I set my goal for 300, but I think maybe I can do even less.  It's really tough to judge though because I never know if I'm going to have an audition across town... but that's the CHALLENGE, right?
