The Great Communities Collaborative is helping Bay Area communities plan for neighborhoods near transit. With 1.7 million new people expected over the next 25 years, the Collaborative's goal is for all people in the Bay Area to live in complete communities, affordable across all incomes, with nearby access to quality transit by 2030.

GreenTRIP is the Traffic Reduction + Innovative Parking certification program for new residential and mixed use developments. GreenTRIP certification rewards projects that apply strategies to reduce traffic and greenhouse gas emissions.With GreenTRIP, we want to expand the definition of green building to include robust transportation standards for how people get to and from green buildings.   

The Bay Area's regional agencies have now launched FOCUS, an initiative to implement the region's smart growth strategy.
