Alameda Bike Fest Brings Joy on Two Wheels
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, families gathered on the Paden Elementary School blacktop for the annual Alameda Bike Fest. Every year, Transform organizes this event for Alameda residents. The event planners choose a different school site each year, and we bring our special brand of fun to connect youth with active transportation.
The City of Alameda sponsors the event each year. This year, the festival offered free bike safety classes, kids learn to ride activities, a helmet fitting and giveaway, a bike gear decoration station, and free bike repairs. There were lots of other bike-themed activities, such as a bike-powered blender for making smoothies and a bicycle trivia wheel.

Paden Elementary has a large blacktop facing the marina that’s fun to zoom around on. The school’s proximity to a new bike corridor on Central Avenue (currently under construction) made it the perfect site to host the annual celebration of all things bicycle.
The whole community pitched in to make this a fun day, with Paden Elementary’s amazing parent planning committee making the event happen. Transform coordinated with the Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools Program to help bring a number of safety activities, like the BikeMobile and Bike Rodeo, to this event. Shout-out to our other partners: Alameda Recreation & Parks Department, Easy Street Cycling, Alameda Elks, the Kiwanis Club of Alameda, BART, and the Alameda Unified School District.
