Normalize Transit, Biking, Walking, and Rolling

To break old habits, normalize new ways of moving, and ensure people can access green transportation, we need to build knowledge and resources and shift how people feel about their mobility options. That will make transit, biking, walking, and rolling viable, everyday choices. To effect this change, Transform educates and empowers communities and builds community leadership—and changes the narrative for policymakers and the broader public.

Make Walking, Rolling, and Transit Affordable and Accessible

We work to make sustainable transportation affordable, ensure that programs are shaped to be inclusive and reach communities that need them, and help agencies implement infrastructure projects equitably.

Promote subsidy programs and new mobility in under-resourced communities

We advocate for free transit and other subsidy programs, and connect California residents who face barriers to green mobility with e-bike subsidies, transit passes, and more. We partner with government agencies and private companies to promote equitable rollout of new mobility options.

Promoting safety and inclusion on transit

We can make transit safer and more appealing without over-policing. Rather than criminalizing people for being unhoused or struggling with untreated mental health issues, Transform’s framework for transit safety emphasizes successful, collaborative approaches that improve rider experience and provide much-needed services in the community.
